We started out, my friend, her dog and I around 11 am on the Dipsea Trail along the panoramic highway. We cruised until we hit the ladder, which presented a problem for Govinda. Fortuantely she was able to carry him half way up and I, coddling his butt gave him enough stability to jump the remianing distance. Once we got to the inn we took a break before continuing on our way.
After asking for some quick directions from two mountain bikers we headed off…in the wrong direction. We ended up adding about 3 miles to our overall trip because we went to the amphitheater, whoch was really cool but unfortunately the only way to the top was back the way we came to the inn. From there it was pretty straight forward until we reached the top and settled in for lunch.
We sat underneath the fire look out because it was howling windy and we wanted to eat lunch. An older gentleman qho was serving as the lookout came out and was nice enough to throw some water down for the doggy and we chatted with hom for awhile.
Heading down the way the route map explained prove to take a lot longer than we thought and we ended up the last two hours or so in the complete dark on the Matt davis trail before popping out in the street with flashlights in hand.
