Curry Canyon Road to Frog Pond Road, Alder Creek Road, Green Ranch Road, and then Summit Trail, is a grueling hike. The views are beautiful, and absolutely breathtaking at the summit.

My friend and I decided to begin our hike from Curry Canyon Trail at 7am, however the gates did not open until 8am. The hike started out with plenty of shade, and then for the rest of the hike – we were completely exposed to the sun. It was over 80 degrees, so it was hot. We made our way up to the summit slowly (as slow as a tortoise at times), took plenty of water breaks, and sought out shaded areas whenever we could. The hiking paths we took were board, we didn't see anyone on the trails we took until about a mile from the summit, when the path narrowed to single file.

I'm glad Mt. Diablo is conquered, up next Mt. Tam!
