Started the hike at 7:20 on a cold, overcast day. Hardly 5 minutes into the hike, the rain started. Continued for 2.5 hours at varying levels of downpour. Once we summited though, the weather changed for the better and the fog started to burn away. Think I got a little too much sun on the way down as I was a little rosy by the time we reached the car. Glad we got off the mountain when we did, since thunderstorms, hail and heavy rain rolled in two hours after we reached the car. Good to be back in town for that.

The trails are in fantastic condition. A little muddy due to the large amount of rain recently, but they're very well-maintained and wide. Would highly recommend this for mountain biking and trail running; we saw quite a few people doing just that during our hike. Also, the creeks and Guadalupe River are flowing heavily right now, which is quite the beautiful sight.

All said and done, 16 miles, 6 hours. Beautiful hike and I'll definitely return to run this trail at some point in the near future.
