The gate is closed on the holy Jim trail so it added a few miles in. Started early in the morning before it got too hot. This trail is up, up, up. Wildflowers blooming in all colors, very beautiful. Mountains pristine green. The sound of water flowing most of the hike. Creek crossings, we took off shoes and then dried with quick dry towel. On way back, we just walked straight through. Some poison oak but not too bad. Lots of loose rock so watch your step. Satellite towers at top kind of put a damp in it. But nice to have cell phone service at the top to check in with family. Overall, a good climb!

Where did you park if Holy Jim gate was closed?
Everyone parks right at the gate there’s a little turnout of parallel park on side of road if full. We were first ones there 5am so no cars yet.
