I thought I had logged this hike already, but no longer see it on my profile…
Great Hike! The first 2 miles were challenging… Mostly uphill for both of them. Once passed mile 2, you have a nice slight ascend that is very easy. At mile 3.2 you start another good climb, but not as long as the beginning. Lots of snow on this hike above 5000 feet. I brought my micro spikes, and used them at the top and on my way back down. Although I feel the most of the trail can be done without them, it just got very slippery when heading through the last 100 or so yards before the top. You are ducking and dodging brush to get to the highest point, and need to climb a ladder to get to the peak sign. I recommend wearing gloves for this rock scramble, I busted up one of my knuckles pretty good. I extremely enjoyed this hike, and can't wait to do it again. I hear however in the summer, it can be very buggy. There were no bugs on my journey, but just be mindful if you do it during the warmer season. Overall a fantastic hike!
