Starts easy and goes easy for about 2.5 miles (our of a total of 4 one way). At 2.65 miles, the rock scrambling starts! Nothing dangerous or scary, mind you, just stepping over big rocks on the way to several also peaks. As a matter of fact, be prepared that when you think you see the peak ahead, it is likely not the one you are going for! Depending on who you talk to, 3-8 small false peaks before you get the Strawberry peak. Approximately 1650 of elevation gain in 4 miles. So, not that bad. As I said the only problem is that the majority of elevation again is in the last 1.5 miles. Coming down is not enjoyable, as you may guess, until getting to the easy part mentioned above. Overall a good workout, but I did not enjoy it too much due to the knee-hurting ankle-twisting rock scrambling! The Peak itself is alright with great views. It is not as cramped as Sitton Peak was (my first of the 2023 six pack). Parking could be challenging. WE had to wait a bit before space opened around 9.30 am on a Sunday. Enjoy the hike.
