First few miles of the trail was long and steep (unpaved service road).  After that hiking was enjoyable.  Nearing the tower and summit, the trail became steep and rocky again.  Saw several snow puddles but they were not in the way.  Had fun playing with them a bit.  Thrilled to spot mountain lions' prints.  To my disappointment, there was a party of young men at the tower that prevented me from fully access to the tower to appreciate the pano view.  Oh well.  Managed to view in a different spot outside the tower though.  As for the summit, I wasn't prepared for the ladder and rope to climb upon the top boulder with the ruin.  Maybe next time. All in all it was a positive experience.  Glad I went.
