Make sure you bring $10 cash per person you have to pay at entrance to Los Coyotes. It is a lot of uphill and was a bit hot with some annoying flies. We started around 9:30am and recommend a little earlier to beat the heat at this time of year. Luckily the steepest part is the first 2 miles then a bit more shaded. Lots of wildflowers, lizards, and the views were amazing. The last part was the most fun as it becomes a narrow trail after the rickety tower. After signing our names in the hiker-log, we headed to the very top which required a ladder or ropes and some bouldering. We sat up top for a snack and enjoyed the beautiful views before heading down. A good workout and a great day for our almost-all over 60 group.
