This was our first of the six pack challenge and it was a good one. We did the Devil's Backbone going up and the Ski Hut route back. I don't think I'd do it any other way. The way up was long and obviously uphill most of the way but the way down would have been awful to go up. I am not very sure footed to begin with and going down the Baldy Bowl Trail consisted of a bit of sliding and falling but nothing too rough. And it was hot. The sun was at our backs the entire time down and the backs of my arms reminded me for about a week after the hike. Make sure to bring sunscreen for sure!
