A true PNW hike through the mist, this was a well marked trail with a little bit of everything – covered, open, rocks, mud, roots, boulders. A steady climb with minimal switchbacks, this hike offered a fun change of terrain. The final bit to the lookout ladder was a little intimidating but the yellow dots marking which boulders to move to were very helpful. Because of the drizzly weather we were not rewarded with breathtaking views but could catch peeks through the fog. Be sure to sign the guest book in the lookout tower!

Sometimes the view is elusive. I had the same experience when I climbed Granite Mountain. Still beautiful in the mist, but I need to go back on a clear day. Great job!
