We took the tram up at 8:10 in the morning .. already the trip was great. We signed the permit at the ranger station and we were on our way around 8:45 AM. The green foliage and tall trees were not what I expected after coming up fro Palm Springs desert area! It was much cooler than below but not enough to put on my jacket, my long sleeve shirt was enough. We grabbed one geocache on the way up at  nice vista point where we stopped to snack. The trail was busy with hikers so we had to move aside a lot but we made steady progress up to the summit. We had to wait a while to get a picture since the summit was very crowded with people. We reasted and had lunch before heading down. I took a detour to Miller Peak and scaled the boulders up to the peak where I could read the memorial plaques. We trudged back downhill for what seemed forever missing to find another geocache. The tram was jammed with people waiting for cafes and the tram. Tiredly we boarded the tram finally and were treated to everyone in the tram joining in songs as we descended to the bottom – crazy fun!
