When I started my 6 POP challenge this year, I never thought I would be able to hike 20 miles and climb 4600′ to the highest peak in SoCal.  It took us 10 hours but it was a very enjoyable hike. We took the lesser-traveled route – south fork via Dry lake up and Dollar lake down – and was rewarded with having the trail entirely to ourselves. We only saw 4 other hikers the entire day! The weather was perfect. We saw several deer around sunset near Poop Out Hill.
