Here my full report of an amazing day with my lovely friends. Nothing beats the crisp and cool mountain air, hiking after (and before😆) rain and good talks and laughs.
It’s my passion, therapy and outlet. 🇨🇭 So thankful now they my dad took us up on mountains at a very young age to grow up with this, now I can pass it on.
🌲🌵☀️🌈
Kendrick Mountain/Peak is 9.6 miles with 2700 ft elevation gain. I kept comparing it to Humphrey’s Peak, this one is long as well yes, but Kendrick is more of a steady incline. Well groomed and not many roots and rocks.
Once you get closer to peak and out of tree line, you have pretty views and can spot Humphrey’s Peak and close to a 360 view (jus the tower on top is in the way.🤣⛰
Beautiful blooming of various flowers from the rain, the terrain was soft and perfect, no mud or slipping.
We had so much fun, tthanks girls for coming,
every hike is unique for many reasons, this one was extra special to me. Not to forget my new “Alex phrase” …. You had to be there.
It’s close to 2hr 45min drive from Anthem, you go through Flag, then go west (pass snowbowl sign) and after a while go on a dirt road for 6 miles or so.
Forecast was rain and possible thunderstorms late morning. That is why we started the hike before 7am, to get down from peak mid morning.
We had a few miles left when thunders started rolling in, we practiced with our rain covers for our packs- and of course as soon as we had all our rain gear on for rest of hike, storm went around us. Back by car packing up, pouring rain started.
