One of the most beautiful, but difficult, hikes that I've done. This was my second time, though the first time was ten years ago. We got there around 6:40 AM and only got a parking spot because someone just happened to leave. The trail was very busy, with most hikers having started in the very early morning hours. It was an absolute perfect day! We had jackets on for the first 10-15 minutes and then long sleeve shirts kept us comfortable for the rest of the day. We saw several mountain goats, most of which were by Emerald Lake. From the ascent to the saddle to the summit was pretty brutal- steep and rocky. Fantastic, unmatched views though! For me, the way back was about 3.5 miles too long. It was a long day. I was pretty done with it!
