I spend two nights at dry lake, which was not at all dry. Lodgepole spring was still going strong (this was 9/8). Lovely campground and an excellent base camp to explore San Gorgonio (original name: Kwiria-Kaich) and the other peaks around it. On day three unexpected rain made for a slippery and soaked trip back to the trail. I still saw people going up that seemed ill-prepared for the rain and the cold up there, and read about some rescues later on. Please be prepared for all weather and know when to turn around; that mountain will be there tomorrow, too.
there were two patches on the switchbacks above the plane crash site with rock slides that required some class 2 scrambling.
