The trail was beautiful and perfect until the sun peaked and shade was sparse… with each peak I find myself saying this is crazy I think I need to stick with my happy 12 mile hikes…This is the last peak, I can’t do another hike like this, even longer impossible! Then the next day I find myself say it’s only 3 more miles on the next peak. You can do this! I think that if you’re not used to bagging these monster peaks, they are a lot like labor. You tell yourself never again this is too much. But with the passing of time you forget the struggle and pain and remember the beauty and the peace you feel when you first set your eyes on the gorgeous views and the sheer joy of being someplace few get to experience.
