Hiked with my college study group up Santiago Peak today, the tallest point of Orange County! We started at 7am, reached the peak at 1pm and got back to the trailhead around 5pm. The hike is perfect with a decent amount of shade along the Holy Jim Trail, however it was grueling as we were hiking up Main Divide Road with no protection from the sun. Overall the hike was great! Many breaks were taken and when we reached the peak, clouds covered the view. However after hanging around the peak for 30 minutes, the clouds cleared up and the view was fantastic! Overall I recommend it, and especially the Holy Jim Trail, just for the wildflowers.
