This was my third time hiking to Mount Baldy and it turned out to be the toughest one because of the strong wind. I checked the weather conditions the night before hiking. It said 15-25 miles per hour, which is manageable. When I hiked to Devil's Backbone, the wind on the ridge was over 50 miles. I had to stop a few times and squat and use poles to support myself. At a certain point, I had to lower my body and sit on the ground several times when the wind, I believe, was over 60 miles per hour. I saw a few hikers going up and then turned around before the summit due to the wind. Overall, it is quite a unique experience.
