We didn't know what to expect for this hike but were pleasantly surprised. The trail was a gentle climb through the forest for the first mile or two. After passing an intersection with the PCT it was steeper at times but not for long until the last couple of miles where there was a longer steep stretch. The trail surface was hard packed and easy to walk on for pretty much the entire hike and is mostly in the shade. We had the trail almost completely to ourselves except for one other hiker, a cyclist and another group of three Six-Pack of Peaks hikers that celebrated with us at the summit (this was Peak #6 for four of us!). From the summit we could see the Sisters, Diamond Peak and many lakes. The hike was long at 12 miles but very nice and not nearly as hard as South Sister!

Looks like you had a beautiful, smoke-free day for a peak! Very cool that you met up with some other challengers on the summit, too.
Congratulations on completing the challenge! See you at the FInisher’s Party in November.
