Six of six! Woot!
I got an early start on the 2020 Sixpack, after a late finish to the 2019 challenge. Then the lockdowns…then the fires burned Mt Sizer, plus the only one I hadn't done yet: Rose Peak. Last week, right after Mission Peak was approved as a substitute, I scheduled a weekday visit with a friend. We picked the Ohlone College approach, to avoid the usual crowds at the Stanford Avenue entrance. It was great!
We paid our $4 parking fee at Ohlone College, and started the hike, with clear blue skies and perfect temperatures. About 2 hours later we summited, took a few pictures, and headed down for a takeout snack of Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, nearby (“My Delight” restaurant, very close by).
There were about 5 other people at the top, and we probably passed about 5 others, in each direction in our hike. There were no crazy crowds, or lines to take summit photos. A great day!
