Mother's Day on Mount Saint Helens is usually one of the biggest parties in the PNW, but this year because of very unfavorable forecasts, it was very quiet. We decided since we had the permits, we would go and just see how far we could get. Besides a few whiteout condition times, the weather ended up being immensely better than the forecast predicted. There were only about 20 other people on the mountain on 2022 Mother's day, which is the fewest people I have ever seen on MSH!

It ended up being a wonderful trip to the summit, in skirts. There were some minor loose wet avalanches along the route, but they were all easily avoidable (though unfortunately there were some track underneath the runouts…).
