Hiked this one solo. This was quite the adventure for me since I'm new to the area and don't have much experience with snow. I did come prepared with poles and microspikes though. I didn't end up using the spikes. Some of the trail was covered with snow in sections, but I was able to follow the footprints of the hiker ahead of me to find the trail each time. I was very cautious on the way up to avoid the snow as much as possible. The views at the top were incredible! As I was about to make my way down I saw a couple of hikers walking straight up the snow field. I had been too afraid to venture off the rocks most of the time. They weren't even wearing spikes. I started a conversation with them and asked a lot of questions. They were very kind and at the end they gave me a lesson/demo on glissading, and down the mountain I went. It was so fun, and the descent took a fraction of the time that it would have if I had taken the trail.

Fantastic, Dorothy! Glissading can be a lot of fun, as long as you can keep your speed under control.
Yes! I’m a cautious person by nature and my poles helped control my speed, and in many instances were used to get me going again.
