Amazing first experience summiting Baldy. Just three short months ago I drove by the area on my way to Bonita Falls thinking to myself that one day I'll do it. And today, I was finally able to do so. Parking at the typical Manker Flats area, we decided to hike up clockwise, heading to the Ski Hut first on the way to the summit, and descend via the Devils Backbone to the Notch before heading back to the car. Steady incline straight to the top with intermittent snow past the Ski Hut, but nothing that was not traversable. Climb to the top took just under four hours including all our breaks for snacks and pictures and breathing. Started at 8AM, summit at 12, and back to the car by 3:30. Overall, this was an amazing hike and I am glad I can check this off my list now. Perhaps next time I can try doing this counter clockwise or up Register Ridge.
