Mount Baldy overnight glamping

Trailhead:

Devil’s Backbone

Trail Conditions:

ROAD:

Bugs:

Snow:

In the spirit of keeping the hikes fun for the family, we took the ski lift above the clouds and overnighted at the Baldy Resort tent cabins. Our stay corresponded with the moonlight hike event so we enjoyed BBQ and a live band Saturday night at the Notch. We summited the next morning via Devil’s Backbone. It had been windy all night but by 9am it died down and was sunny and comfortable. The narrow trail was a challenge but do-able. We agreed having the night to acclimate made for a great hike.

  1. They were really nice! It was a treat to camp with a real bed, windows and a door. And not carry a tent on my back! The view on the edge of the notch ridge was awesome. They must re-build the structures each year because it was all new.
