Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

Four weeks after my first peak of Cucamonga this year and a chess tournament trip across the country, I am able to find time and hike Mount San Jacinto with the family again. The last time I hiked the peak was in 2021 and I did it alone in November. This time, the weather is perfect. The first half of the trail is fully shaded and the second half is exposed to the sunlight, 50 perfect of the time. The hike took longer than I planned as a few of us were not in perfect shape, probably due to the lack of sleep the night before the hike. The view from the peak is astonishing, on one side it is the mountainous San Bernadino National Forest, and on the other side, it is a great flat desert area (Mojave?). The only thing that annoys me is the bug. I forgot to bring bug spray for this hike.
