The parking lot was at least half full by 5:30 a.m. (expected for a holiday weekend)
Thankfully the weather cooled down a bit for the day. We hiked counter-clockwise, while the majority seemed to hike clockwise. There were a LOT of people at the summit (also as expected) but everyone was having a great time and very friendly. The descent down the Ski Hut trail is always so stressful because of the steepness, but it's so beautiful. There were a couple of downed trees along the way, but easy enough to pass under.
Just a note of warning: the bathrooms at both the trailhead and at the Ski Hut (outhouse) were really bad. People should really make an effort to try and keep them in better condition for those coming after them.
