So I was nervous for two reasons: One this was my first time up Baldy and I just started hiking and getting into shape (gym for HIIT at CrossFit) back in November), Two I hiked with 3 young ladies who are major athletes – one is heading to CO next month to compete in her first IRONMAN! The other two are super fit and all three of their mothers (who are my friends) are Ultra-marathon and Ironman competitors/finishers, etc. I was sure this was NOT MY CROWD lol.

Per their expert advice, we did the Manker – Skihut – summit – Devil’s Backbone – Notch – Manker route. I as steep, but beautiful! It was VERY windy at the summit – hard to enjoy that part. We had a quick bite and then headed down.

Anyhow, I did it without complaining – and actually ENJOYED every step. I would totally do it again!
