Well, holy s***! Last winter I found myself in a deep, deep depression. It was bad. As with always in my life, when my head isn't right, I immediately feel drawn to go outside. I've been a half playful hiker for my whole life. This time was different. My friend sent me a link to this challenge and although I'd never climbed a mountain before, the idea piqued my broken spirit. Before I signed up officially, I climbed Mt Monadnock. Not sure how to put into words how amazing that experience was! I'd never done anything like it before and all I knew was that I absolutely, ABSOLUTELY, wanted more. I signed up for the Six Pack. I focused on the challenge until suddenly and without thought, fun turned into passion. I started hiking mountains not featured in the challenge and then I made it out to Welch-Dickey- the first time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with very new eyes. Since that day, I have not been the same person. Maybe this sounds ridiculous? There are no words. Anyway, I added in an origami backpack kayak to the adventures and here we are, having not only conquered Chocorua, but Middle Sister, Pierce AND Eisenhower after kayaking the Magalloway River and marauding on the Conway Railroad tracks (this was an accident! I had no idea what the tracks were or if they were active- they just called to me!) on this trip. I don't know what just happened to me, but I do know that I am more alive than ever in this life! Definitely will not stop at six peaks. I will finish all of them and when more are added, I'll do those to0. Easy answer.
