This was the very first day hike ive ever done where ive greeted people with good morning,  good afternoon, good evening,  and good night.

Got to Palm Springs 820am (already getting hot), hiked up to the tram building, waited in line to get my annual pass, rode up the tram (made me dizzy), stepped outside the tram building to get blasted by cold air, ready to start all trails app….where is my damn phone! I left it in the car! Rode the tram back down and on my way out asked security if im allowed to carry my kabar. He said yes. Hiked down to my car grabbed all my crap and started the process all over again. My hike started 944am.

The hike was cold the whole day. It took me forever to complete as I took a lot of breaks (to get a breather and take in the views) and spent a lot of time being a social butterfly. The views were beautiful! I even got to see a resue helicopter show off and run its sirens. Made it to the top – a ton of people. I think I saw the Marine Corps base in 29 Palms from the top. I had cell service at the top and was able to text my husband I was going to be late (that was me hinting i wasn't going to make dinner – maybe). Headed back down and ran into people (3 different groups) i had met earlier who were camping and spent more time just chatting away almost forgetting the tram does not run 24/7.

Made it to the tram just before 7pm. I was the only nastiness on the tram. I already knew I smelled (think about it- my pits, bras, and chonies marinating in God knows what for 8 hours). I apologized but still got dirty looks. I should have waited for the next tram and rode with the rock climbers, as my stench would have blended in. Made it home before sunset. I was so sore and tired…didn't make dinner…ate Lasagna leftovers from 2 nights before.

I will be going back a lot since Palm Springs is close by, effing beautiful, and i got the annual pass.
