What a wonderful way to spend my Thanksgiving. I woke up early and headed to Henry W. Coe Park to tackle my fifth mountain for this challenge.
It was definitely chilly, so I packed layers. I was the only hiker out there and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was just me, the trail and the wildlife. The trail was dusted with snow and I let myself stop along the way and take in the beauty.
I also encountered a manzanita tree that reminded me of the Thanksgivings I spent growing up and visiting my grandparents in Sutter Creek. They had beautiful manzanita trees. It seemed fitting that I did this hike today (especially because I wasn't sure if I was doing Mt. Sizer or Rose Peak until I started driving this morning).
I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving.
