The weather was in the mid 50's, perfect for hiking, but quite foggy. We saw a lot of wild boar destruction and footprints. We encountered a hunter w/ gun hired by the park district to find and shoot boar (or so he told us 🙂 ). We saw a large 4 foot snake crossing our path. And because of the rain the past 3 days we had to cross the creek in two places with a fair amount of water (up to our knees) with some small rapids.
We felt like quite the adventurers and we saw zero other hikers. The entire park to ourselves.
