I hiked on the most beautiful blue bird sky day in February with my dog Zoey. She has just turned a year old a few days prior and this was her most elevation gain hike to date. We took a steep route up the south east side of the mountain on a very low traffic trail. We had view of the SF bay the whole way up the hill, I might have well been hiking up backwards. There were a few small stream crossings and just the littlest bit of icy on the north side of the summit. At the summit we would see all the way north to St. Helena and as far south as Mission Peak. Zoey did amazing and napped the whole way home.
