I had intended to complete this hike via Chantry Flats, but was surprised to see, upon my arrival at 6AM, that it was closed.  I drove over to the Sierra Madre trailhead and cars were already starting to line up on the street so I grabbed a spot.  I grabbed my flashlight and headed up the demanding trail before the sunlight began to make it's appearance at the bulletin board.  I met many other hikers along the way as each of them passed me.  I really need to start stretching out my knee as it hurt all day.  I made it to the top of Mt Wilson at about noon after 5 hours of climbing.  I proceeded down the trail and met a woman when I was about to take a detour to Mt. Harvard.  She noted that the trail wasn't really a trail and showed me her bloody shin.  I turned around and decided to hit Jones' Peak off of the Mt Wilson Toll Road.  That was a fun ridge hike with it mostly being downhill.  After reaching the Ruby Bench, I descended to Jones' Peak and met a bunch of other hikers who came up from Bailey.  I proceeded to go straight south and descended down the South Peak Trail which was steep and gnarly.  It was fun to glissade down this one until it met back up to Mt Wilson trail.  In the end, I completed the hike in just over 9 hours and covered 14 miles.
