The threat of rain delayed the normally large crowds of this hike as we set up Mt Woodson form Lake Poway just before 8am. The overcast skies and the relatively empty trail made for a pleasant hike up. We reached Potato Chip Rock just in time for the sun to break through and only a few minutes before the crowds (hiking from the Ramona side) started to form a line. After the obligatory photo, we make our way to the actual summit for a break and a snack. The hike down was mostly exposed to the sun, while it wasn't too bad we were glad to be hiking down rather then up.
A very fun hike on a very well built and maintained trail.
