I had only done this hike going up to the ski lodge, up Devil’s Backbone to the peak and down the same route. Yesterday we did the loop, we started up and took the route to the ski hut to the peak, and down Devil’s Backbone and through the lodge. It was nice that the lodge was open, we got a drink, sat for a few minutes then headed down. Going up the ski hut route was way more difficult! The terrain is so rocky and steep. It was so COLD and WINDY at the top. As they say, “the best views come after the hardest climbs”.
