I started at Matt Davis Trail head at Stinson Beach going clockwise which turned into a Figure 8 ending on TipSea trail. Trail is mostly shaded as you travel through beautiful, almost primordial forest. During the hike you pass through several campsites where water is available.
the trail is steep, something to remember on the down trip. In many places plank or stone steps help you navigate steep grades. They are not all in good shape so be careful of your footing. Poles are a must in this hike.. In some places it’s easy to take wrong turns on trails so use a reliable GPS site like all trails. I still took a few wrong turns and had to back-track.
the views from the top are amazing. It was clear and I could see the Golden Gat and Bar Bridges with a view of Downtown SF snd SF Bay.
All in all, it’s challenging, beautiful hike.

I think this is probably my favorite hike in the Bay Area challenge.
So far, mine also. I’ve done some if the other peaks prior to joining the challenge, and will hike them again for the challenge but do far I love this one the most. I’m looking forward to hiking it again in the spring.
