With four peaks down and two to go, summiting a peak every weekend had become nearly routine for me and my brother. Starting early in the morning, my trusty hiking buddy and I parked the car at Chantry Flat and began our hike up Mount Wilson around 7:00 AM. The foliage was lush and green and beautiful through Sturtevant Falls with many little cabins all the way to Sturtevant Camp, which was quite vacated due to COVID. The hike is simply a lovely stroll through the woods… until all the sudden it isn't and then it's a trudge up the mountain. Reaching the peak of Mount Wilson didn't have the same feeling of accomplishment as the other mountains, I think because the summit of Mount Wilson is covered in telescopes and observatories and people can drive to it. But it was another peak down leaving only one more to go! We looped back down to Chantry Flat and finished the day with In-N-Out.
