Hike started off warm and sunny with no snow until the bench about halfway to the summit. The fire road was covered in snow but packed in most areas for sure footing. As we got to the last 2ish miles to the summit, the snow went from 9 inches to almost 2 feet in some areas. Crampons or trekking poles are recommend. Didn't go the extra half mile to grab the sign because I wanted to make it down and out before dark. Beautiful hike and a great way to kick off the challenge and new year.
