I started this hike at 0625 on Jan 1, 2019, It was about 14 degrees at my car with light winds. Because of the cold I decided to dawn my microspikes before I started. This way I wouldn't have to do it on the way up. There was packed snow on the road/trail all the way up to the summit. Very easy to navigate and walk through with snow boots and/or microspikes. I wore lots of layers and was quite comfortable throughout the hike. The only time I felt cold was on my finger tips when I took my gloves off to take pictures.
I was up and down (back to my car) in 1 hour 6 minutes. From here I headed to my second objective for the day. Sitton Peak! 😉

Nice job on surviving the 14 degree temps! I like that little Mt Pinos when it’s snow covered. It makes for a nice wintery hike!.
