The day started pretty foggy but it cleared up before too long. We did the clockwise loop and it was a challenging hike, but I think that direction is better than counterclockwise. You go up, you go way down, you go way up, you go way down, and you go up again. I will admit the “shortcut” is certainly steep. It’s one of those sections where you go slow and take a few breaks along the way. The “peak” was sadly anti-climactic but the overall hike was a decent hike.
They had cones in every other parking spot limiting how many cars can park there but it wasn’t even full when we finished our hike.
