I wasn't the first to summit Camelback this morning, but that's pretty much the case whenever you summit this peak. When I did summit I was able to spend some time overlooking the Phoenix lights from the top where I was all by myself with no other hikers on the summit for the first time EVER in all of the times that I've ever hiked this mountain. I was able to set a handful of personal records on this hike as I was solo and didn't have to wait on or hold anybody else back. 1 hour and 31 minutes from door to door (leaving my car door and returning to my car door). These morning hikes where you leave before the sun comes up and get to look at the city lights while everybody is still sleeping, returning from their night shift, or waking up and getting ready for their day is just amazing. It's a beautiful sight to say the least.
