To know you made it to the summit requires: finding the trail sign and seeing the stunning view you just worked so hard to see. While I found the sign (thank goodness) the view from the top eluded this first time summiteer. I was trapped in a windy and cold cloud that surrounded me like a fog machine that would not quit. I know I made it to the peak but I have no idea what that view would looked like. I had no Instagram Worthy photo but instead ended up with a red hands and a cold face with a runny nose.
