Not a glissader

Alexander Basin

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No Bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

Knew this would be a steep climb, but coming back down was harder than expected – I didn’t do well with the glissading. The wildflowers were spectacular, especially the Columbine. Gobbler’s Knob has been on our radar for 30+ years and we finally did it! The views are amazing, and, by hiking the short ridge towards Mount Raymond, we were able to take in 3 different basins from above.
