Trail is a fire road most of the way until you reach the tower and head for the summit. A few downed trees but early passable. Some annoying bugs, but dissipated around mile 4. Minimal shade so definitely recommend starting early and lots of water! I got started at about 7:15 and was warm in the sun!
The Los Coyotes website says entry is at 8 (or 6 depending on the month) you can enter anytime and self pay or buy your pass ahead of time.
