With Vivian Creek trail being closed up until recently, the hike from the South Fork trail is a sweet alternative. I actually prefer this trail. You can do it in a day if you are in great shape, but making it an overnight trip is so much fun. I was going to camp at Fish Creek Saddle, but I wanted to summit on the first day and have a leisure hike out on day two. So I decided to setup at Dry Creek Camp and go for the top. On day one, the trail was empty from trailhead to summit and again absolute solitude until about noon the following day. What a great trip!!
