I started hiking weekly on Sundays after a backside Potato Chip Rock hike on Veteran's Day 2020. I am mid 40s and looking to be less soggy. I found that I SUPER love hiking and decided San Diego Six Pack of Peaks (recommended by a coworker, thanks P!) was in my future! I signed myself and my almost 16 yr old son up, and we are both excited (It is going to be super easy for him, LOL).
This was our first of the six peaks. It was chilly to start, but the weather was beautiful. There was melting ice at one point, which a girlfriend had hoped for 🙂 I am always cold, but I only wore a tank top and did not feel cold after the first 5 mins. We saw many people and quite a few with very well behaved dogs. Being in SoCal, it looked far more like Spring than Winter, yay me!
The drive out to Julian was far for us coming from the NW of the county, but it was well worth it. We stopped in at Wynola Pizza for a yummy lunch in the beautiful sun after the hike. Looking forward to the next five!
