Since I guess one hike in a weekend wasn't enough, I decided to go for a second hike because of the holiday weekend and because the end of the six-pack was in sight. Since I had hiked Cucamonga Peak from the same trailhead two days before, the first part of the hike was pretty much the same. Once I got to the saddle the hike went off the right, and the terrain change quite a bit from any previous hikes I'd been on there. After a number of let down hopes from false peaks I finally made it to the top of Ontario Peak. I rested up there for a bit and headed back after grabbing a few photos. It was definitely a good peak to finish on, and one I would consider doing again for sure. Also, for a little excitement, on the way down I encountered what I think was some variety of rattlesnake, though I was too far to tell for sure. I managed to get a photo of it, though the detail is a bit lacking. Since it didn't see me I stayed a ways away on the trail until it had slithered off into the bushes and then I waited a few minutes longer before continuing on.
