Hiked up and ran down this trail on Saturday, July 4, 2020 beginning at 1:10 pm (no trekking poles). The parking lot and street was full but I was lucky that a car just left as I arrived. An adventure pass is needed to park. There are a few bathrooms but let’s just say they weren’t too clean… There were quite a few people near the bottom of the trail enjoying the stream but after a few miles, it thinned out.
The trail is in great condition. It was a hot day but there was periodic shade and a nice breeze. Once I hit the saddle and started on the trail to Ontario Peak, the views were amazing!
The tree at the summit makes for a great picture spot. I also enjoyed the 360 degree views.
There are plenty of water sources but only near the beginning.
I had no AT&T cell phone service at all during any portion of the hike.
Overall, a great day in the mountains!
