What an amazing hike! My Father and son decided to join for the completion of my fifth peak in the challenge. I parked at the icehouse canyon trailhead filled out the necessary permits and we were on our way. My son walked a good two miles and then it was time to carry him which I didn't mind it was like carrying my backpacking equipment 30 pounds give or take. the beginning has water running thru and it beautiful green. We were about a quarter mile before we reached the saddle when my dad say ” Deer” and my son got more motivated to keep trekking. We grabbed a bit before Kelly's camp and continued to procced to the peak. The fallen trees made the trail a little difficult when I had to carry my son. The views are incredible from the peak my father was very happy when we reached it stating that we had accomplished the peak. very crowded and very fun nonetheless. I was able to encounter the snow plant funny thing is my dad thought it was artificially placed to direct the hikers lol I later googled it and was surprised that it was a helpful plant to the conifers, I learned a lot in this hike total of 14.5 miles and very tired by the end.
