Memorial Day Weekend.  Left LA at 5am.  Was on trail by 6:15am.  Snagged a parking spot in the lot.  Was with a group of 7 others.  Cool, but sunny day.  Very windy at the top!  There are 2 signs on boards you can hold up for photos and a registry box with 2 notebooks for signing in.  12.83 miles.  4,183 climb.  5:24 moving time.  All hiking.  No running. We did not do Big Horn Peak.

Since it was a holiday weekend, there were several people at the midway campsite.  Lots of people with dogs.  Most people looked fairly prepared.  On our way down in the afternoon, several people were going up with large packs. Parking lot was packed as well as people parked far down the road.
